Several workshops will be available to participants during the course. Its distribution in time and content depends on the age group and the precise theme of the final project chosen by the subgroup. Below is a non-exhaustive list of workshops that can be offered :

Team Project Management : Which Tools to Organize, Understand and Listen to Each Other

Spoken expression : assertiveness, different levels and means of communication, preparation of presentations (informative, convincing, motivating)
Get to know yourself better : learning methods, self-control and stress management
These different themes can be addressed in separate work sessions or explored and developed during your stay.

Le Projet de Recherche

In order to benefit from all the tremendous contributions of this high-level course, in a playful and enjoyable format, participants prepare a report (written, radio, photo, video or even webography, of their choice) that will be taken away for distribution. In all the languages of the participants present, and in all their countries, with his signature as Author on the issue of harmony with Nature in the local ecosystem of the Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest and Guarani indigenous community.

This report will be produced in the field or in the laboratory, camera in hand or transported in DRONES that you will learn to fly during the sporting and cultural activities period of the day !

You will be trained in the methodology of project advancement and the concepts behind the Conventions on the Rights of Nature projects. When you return home, you will be able to create an OSI Local Group dedicated to the Rights of Nature and meet decision makers and media in your country.

Le lieu

Bertioga is one of the fifteen municipalities in São Paulo considered seaside resorts by the State of São Paulo. Bertioga has 33 km of beaches suitable for bathing, offering moments of leisure and the practice of various sports, as it has excellent bathing conditions.

The beaches are divided into Enseada, São Lourenço, Itaguaré, Guaratuba and Boraceia. On this last beach is the Guarani indigenous community - Aldeia dos Silveiras.
The name Bertioga has its origins in the Guarani language - ancient Tupi spoken on the Brazilian coast, through the term buriquioca, which means « house of the muriqui », which is a type of monkey very present in the region.
During the beginning of Portuguese colonization, in the 16th century, the region was considered to be in transition between the Tupinambá indigenous territory, which stretched from the state of Rio de Janeiro, north of Bertioga, and the territory of the Tupiniquin indigenous people, which stretched from the outskirts of São Vicente, south of Bertioga.
The settlement of the region began right after the beginning of the colonization of Brazil and the settlers were constantly receiving attacks from the Tupinambás. So, the Portuguese decided to build the São João de Bertioga fort to defend themselves from the Tupinambás attacks, in 1547, which is still functioning today as a cultural center.
Bertioga is located in the heart of Serra do Mar State Park and has more than 90% of original forest preserved, with more than 80% of Atlantic Forest that joins the Restinga Forest reserves that make the transition from Sea to Forest and composes the scenery with the Mangrove Forest.

The Park is a natural home to a wide variety of organisms of all species. Among terrestrial, marine ecosystems and ecological complexes present throughout its area, visitors and researchers find some of the most beautiful and exotic natural examples of our fauna, flora and fungus kingdom. Its beautiful mountainous escarpments dominate the landscape of the São Paulo coast.
Serra do Mar State Park is the largest biological corridor in the Atlantic Forest in Brazil. It is aimed at preserving, valuing local culture, scientific research and environmental education, permanently encouraging the population to seek the conservation of its natural, historical and cultural resources.
Among the 1,361 species of animals, like jequitibás, jatobás, uricuranas, cinnamons, cedars, manacás-da-serra, guanandis, guapuruvus and juçara palm trees, shelter the jaguar, puma, muriqui, howler, ocelot, tapir, paca, raccoon, otter, toucan, Black-billed, Araponga, Jacu-açu and hundreds of other birds and about 1200 types of plants recorded by their extension, some of the main animals at risk of extinction are protected in the species, such as the capuchin monkey, the sloth and the tapir (or tapir) and threatened species from the national flora, among them the palm heart and the Laelia purpurata orchid.
The region surrounding our holiday center is therefore filled with a multitude of different and diverse natural habitats to discover and study, as well as an extremely rich flora and fauna, which makes it a perfect place to carry out our experiences and test our tools.

L'Hébergement

The Sítio do Bem Viver accommodation center will allow you to live immersed in the heart of Nature.

You will also benefit from several environments built with the bio-construction technique to practice recreational and scientific activities. Sítio do bem viver has rooms equipped with computers, a video space, a library and a meeting room that will allow, among other things, participants to retransmit the conclusions of their experience at the end of their stay, as well as moments of leisure ( parties, big games, etc.) and a dining room with Brazilian hammocks for relaxation. It also has a large sunny terrace and is surrounded by the Atlantic Forest where you will be able to carry out some of the outdoor activities.
Alongside the projects and activities of the stays, we have multiple objectives linked to our ecological impact, in collaboration with the center manager. Our food consumption favors local production and involves collaboration with environmentally friendly producers who live in the surroundings. The menus are light, prioritizing plant origin and designed to provide all the necessary nutrients, maximizing fresh products. We are also trying to reduce our travel, our consumption of paper for printing and give preference to recycled material as much as possible.
As far as the parents of participating children are concerned, they can choose to use a hotel in the region, either on the eve of their arrival, or to come and watch their children’s broadcast at the end of their stay. Parents can visit this magnificent region during their stay if they wish.
We organized the entire trip to Brazil and then Bertioga for the group of participating children and their parents.
To get there you can also :

  • Come on your own (you will receive the exact schedule by email)
  • Organize an outing from anywhere in the world (contact us to find out more)
